ADVERTISE:
JANUARY 2009 NOTE:
Despite any language to the contrary below, TV Humboldt is no longer planned to become a business,
but is being maintained as a hobby.
Due to various factors, TV Humboldt is starting out as a noncommercial channel, with aspirations to become a commercial station as soon as it's feasible. For the time being, we're not selling ad time, but keep reading because you might get your ad run on TV Humboldt for free!
As you might have noticed in our programming, we are running videos that appear to be ads. But we're RUNNING THEM FOR FREE for now, so we don't consider them "ads" per se. (click here for an explanation). If you submit your video advertisements to us now, there's a strong chance we'll run them for free, too, as "unpaid business messages."
But either way, we'll host your videos, at no charge, in our advanced "better than YouTube" player that can be easily posted on your business website and virtually anywhere else on the web. Your business videos ought to look better than YouTube's blurry player can offer, and you shouldn't have to worry about your video files ending up on who-knows-who's hard drive. Our player will show your video with little-to-no download time, in high quality, with free hosting, and virtually no risk of being downloaded. And, we can customize your players to match your web designs like a glove. We'll keep hosting any videos you submit during this initial noncommercial phase, at no charge, for as long as you want.
GET STARTED NOW: If you already have video ads in computer file form, please upload them here. If your ads are not in a readily uploadable format, or if you have questions, please e-mail Paul Benson at citizenmediaman AT gmail DOT com. We'll try to make it as quick and easy for you to get your videos to us as we can.

WHY NOT JUST CALL THEM ADS?
Even though these videos, in and of themselves, were created to be ads, we consider them "unpaid business messages," while they play on the channel and our websites, to keep it quite clear that there is no monetary transaction, and thus no advertising deal between us. At this time, it's necessary that our noncommercial nature is clear and unmistakable.
The reasons for this are too many to list, but one of the main reasons is that we feel it would be unethical (and bad for public relations) to use video content in a profit-driven medium, without the permission of all the video producers whose content we run. (Currently we run their content, without profit, in accordance with their YouTube agreements to allow third parties to post their videos on other websites).
Through our own local alternative to YouTube, called HumVidX, we're looking to get enough local video-makers to submit content directly to us under our agreement, which grants us the right to use their videos in a commercial context.
If you have questions, please e-mail Paul Benson at citizenmediaman AT gmail DOT com.
